Travel requirements to Hawai’i
Aloha! 🌺
We’re excited for everyone to join us in the celebration of our marriage. To be surrounded by the people we love on this big day means a lot to us!
It’s not lost on us that we’re still in a pandemic and our guests’s health and safety is our utmost priority. Regular COVID courtesies apply, vaccinated or negative tests to attend the wedding. Hand sanitizer stations will be posted throughout the ceremony and reception venue. Guests are welcome to wear their masks based on their comfort levels. Both the ceremony and reception will be hosted outdoors.
*On March 25, 2022, the Safe Travels Hawai‘i program was concluded. Beginning March 26, 2022, there will be no COVID-related requirements for arriving domestic passengers. Travelers arriving in Hawai‘i directly from international airports must still comply with U.S. federal requirements; consult with your airline.
For more updates about Hawai’i travel requirements please visit COVID-19 State of Hawai’i Portal.

Getting to Oahu, HI
Travel by plane
For guests flying in, we recommend booking your flights in advance. October is considered off season for Hawai’i. With less visitors, plane tickets and accommodations will be cheaper as well.
By recommendation, the best times to look for the best flight rates are between Tuesday and Wednesday nights!
If you’d like to be notified of the best flight rates available, sign up for the Hopper app. They analyzes billions of prices daily to predict how prices will change, and tells you whether to buy or wait (potentially could save up to 40% on your next flight).
Where do I fly into
Please fly into Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on Oahu. This is Hawaii's major airport, serving as the entry point for most of Hawaii's visitors.
How to get around
There are variety of options with public transportation, walking, Lyfts/Ubers, go cars and rental cars available.
Ride TheBus (public transportation)
Take the public bus to get around town for a daily fare:
Senior: $2.00
Adult: $5.50
Youth: $2.50
Disability: $2.00
Walk on foot
Explore town on foot to discover new shops and destinations.
Rent a car
For maximum convenience to explore the island, renting a car for the duration of your stay is the best option. There are car rental services all around the island and at Honolulu International Airport. If you’re flying in, there is a shuttle that will take you to the car rental lot to pickup a car.
Parking around town
Something to keep in mind, parking is a hot commodity in town! If you choose to get a rental car, we highly recommend finding accommodations that includes a parking spot if possible. Hotels and resorts offer valet services and overnight parking, but this will come at an additional cost between $20-$40 /night.
Where to stay
We will be staying at the Ala Moana Hotel from 10/04 - 10/11
Honolulu stretches across the southeastern shores of the island, from Pearl Harbor to Makapu’u Point, encompassing Waikiki Beach along the way. In this urban center of Oahu, you’ll find everything from historic landmarks to fine dining to places to shop.
We recommend staying around Ala Moana in Honolulu and booking at least 5 months out. There are a variety of accommodations from hotels, beachside resorts, and other vacation rentals that can be found through Airbnb and VRBO.
Check out property management groups like Lei Hawaii Realty and Luana Hawaii Realty for affordable condominiums and other rental options.
